Welcome to You and Eye, where we treat our guests like family, and we enjoy providing personalized solutions that make a difference. Doctors Ausdemore, Bhend, and Bingham enjoy providing personalized solutions and primary eye care that makes a difference. Dr. Ausdemore will be expanding our Dry Eye Subspecialty. In addition, Drs. Bingham and Ausdemore are expanding our Myopia Management Subspecialty.
You and Eye is a family-owned business. Oftentimes, Dr. Bhend' s husband, James, will help with fabricating new desks, displays, etc as well as being responsible for accounting. The kiddos: Brie, Carter, & Jackson, and our family dogs Link, Zelda, and Teddy come in occasionally with dad too! As a family, we are all excited and committed to providing you and your family with a friendly and quality eye care experience.
Dr. Josie Ausdemore
Dr. Ausdemore was born in Omaha, NE, and grew up in small-town Underwood, IA; with half of her family in the city and half of her family in the country, she can easily relate to all. When not at the clinic, Dr. Ausdemore enjoys time with her fiancé, their dog, Daisy, and their cat, Finnegan. She also enjoys experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, reading a good book, and being physically active. Dr. Ausdemore expresses a genuine interest in all her patients and is passionate about providing the best care for each patient.
Josie's undergraduate education was received at South Dakota State University with BS in Human Biology and minors in Chemistry and Psychology. Then she graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry. Where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, received awards for Clinical Excellence in Dry Eye Therapy, and was a Golden Key Honor Society member. Dr. Lisa Bingham
Dr. Bingham grew up right here in Rochester, MN. She received her undergrad degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato with a BS in Human Biology. Shortly after graduating from the Indiana University School of Optometry she moved back to her roots. She has been actively practicing for 11 years right here in downtown Rochester.
In her down-time she enjoys, taking her dog Winnie on long walks and cuddling up with her kitties Charlie, Allie, and Izzy. Dr. Bingham also likes to dive into a good book whenever given the opportunity. As far as she is concerned, the only thing that makes reading and snuggles better is chocolate!

Dr. Kristy Gehling Bhend
Dr. Bhend grew up South of Rochester on a farm in Grand Meadow, MN. She graduated from the University of WI-River Falls with her Bachelor of Science in Biology with Chemistry and Animal Science minors. Her Optometry and Masters in Vision Science degrees were obtained from The Ohio State University College of Optometry. She has a strong education in both the standard research-based and medical models of optometry. Dr. Bhend takes pride in giving patients thorough eye exams and explaining the reason behind the symptoms so that her patients can understand their options and choose as a team how to manage their eye health. Her certification with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition uniquely allows her to add an extra dimension of preventative wellness and nutritional health to her patients' care. When Dr. Bhend isn't practicing optometry she enjoys spending time with her family and pups or taking a family trip to Florida!
As owner of You and Eye Family Eye Care in addition to seeing patients part-time Dr. Bhend assists with practice management and is currently working on the expansion of new services and a new space for our You and Eye family to enjoy!
James Bhend
James Bhend grew up on a farm in LeRoy, MN. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Broad Area Agriculture. As the Business Director of You and Eye, he is in charge of business administration and has become our general handyman! James helped create the welcoming experience at You and Eye from the barn board design down to the scents used in the space, as well as the co-creator of the name “You and Eye”. When James isn't at the practice he is spending time with his family, fixing and building things or farming.
